Having served in all the pivotal roles within education, we understand firsthand the multifaceted challenges that schools and their leaders experience. Our collective experiences have given us unique insights into the intricate workings of educational institutions, from the classroom to the administrative level. We've walked in the shoes of teachers, administrators, counselors, and support staff, gaining an intimate understanding of the demands and aspirations that define each role. This firsthand knowledge informs the development of Systems for Leadership, ensuring that it resonates deeply with the realities of educators' daily lives. Meet The Team


Dr. Tobia is an esteemed educator and consultant who believes that educational leadership requires a strategic vision which incorporates the use of data, research, daily action, and relationship building. 

She developed an expertise in building systems for success over a thirty-three-year career in New York City as a teacher, coach, principal, superintendent, and executive superintendent. 

Her acute awareness of how to cultivate strong leadership has been key to a collaborative approach which has led to improved outcomes for students and strong relationships with community members.
 
In her role as Community Superintendent of 36 schools, Dr. Tobia utilized her experiences as a principal for 12 years in an urban setting.  

As superintendent, she implemented bold initiatives such as 36 in 1 Day and The Kindness Awards to strengthen community ties and facilitate change. She developed the Diamond Method to incorporate instructional approaches in new ways.

As an Executive  Superintendent in New York City, Dr. Tobia managed 365 schools, the borough office consisting of over 200 staff members, and nine superintendents.  

She developed a unique approach to goal development which included clearly defined roles and responsibilities for all stakeholders along with the use of data as a central force to guide support and galvanize resources in impactful ways. 

Building community across the diverse landscape of New York City is a specialty for Dr. Tobia. Her innovative and adaptive approaches have enabled her to engage diverse stakeholders to advance progress toward a shared vision for systemic change. 

The Bronx Expo, Master Classes, and High School Showcases are a few examples of how she brought together thousands of participants to build community. 

Team development and organizational culture are an essential part of the success of any group . Dr. Tobia leverages a systems approach to help create strong teams to accomplish goals.

Dr. Tobia’s vision for school improvement and advancing all aspects of student learning by building the capacity of school leaders to assess, plan for, and achieve student success was the  inspiration for launching her consulting firm Systems for Leadership. In her work as a consultant, Dr. Tobia continues to support systems planning to assist school leaders and district leadership in the face of changing demands.
